It’s nice to be able to see and set the depth especially if you don’t want to drill all the way through your project and it works great, just be careful not to cut the ruler too short just so you can install it neatly.

Installation on my Porter Cable drill press took a while. I first installed it in place of the OEM depth gauge, then realized I wanted the positive stop of that gauge. Removed the Wixey and re-installed the depth stop/gauge and re-installed the Wixey. I realized along the way the Wixey was reading (-) negative, rather than a positive number. If the drill press was a milling machine, negative would make sense sense the overall 4 and accuracy of 3 rating, but now that it is installed, I am happy with it.
